Welcome to the website for The Methodist Cemetery. The cemetery is located in Tenleytown, Washington, D.C., on Murdock Mill Road between River Road and 42nd Street. It is behind the historic Eldbrooke Methodist Church, now home of the Citizen Heights Church. The cemetery was deeded in 1855 to twelve prominent Tenleytown citizens "provided always that the said lot or parcel of land so granted and devoted to the purpose of a grave yard, shall never be used for any other purpose whatsoever." The cemetery is now a historic landmark.
